Signing Out While Breaking The Chains

Another favor track from the Dokkenator is “Breaking The Chains” After hearing this track during the summer of 2010, it immediately become a playlist addition. Not to mention produced many hilarious moments. One of those occurred at his workplace on Mother’s Day 2011.

After finishing work & a late lunch, Dokkenator was getting his stuff together to head home. It was while this track was playing Miriam looked over at several other coworkers. They included two captains, Bana & Gena, along with two other coworkers, Pacha & Ariana. Marie was talking with the women after George Lynch finished his guitar solo. Then the closing lyrics took over, causing Miriam and everyone else to take notice:

Woke up today
I’m alone
I looked around
But baby you were gone
But I don’t mind
And I don’t worry
I will survive

I’m alone
Now that you’re gone
Don’t need nobody
To hold or tie me down
I broke the chains
So let me be
I’ve gotta be free

Breaking the chains around me
Nobody else can bind me
Take a good look around me
Now I’m breaking the chains

Breaking the chains around me
Nobody else can bind me
Take a good look around me
Now I’m breaking the chains

Once the volume of Stanza 2 got higher, the laughs took over. Especially when they heard “I broke the chains, so let me be. I’ve gotta be free.” Marie, however, gave a look of disgust. It said “Okay….we get it. You’re finished & happy that you’re going home, but must you be that loud?” Just wave to the people, slide on the sunglasses & say “Good night”.

Strangers take notice when Dokkenator enters the premises

June 4, 2015

Dokkenator never planned on being an inspiration, or energizing a workplace. All he loved doing was singing to music. it surprises him when people come up and complement his singing. The amazing part is when those people are part of the function he’s working. Not only does it brighten his day, it also makes arriving at work worth the effort. That was never more clear than on this day.

Walking up the driveway to Paradise Banquet Hall, the RATT tune “You’re In Love” was blaring from the speaker bag. That’s when the lyrics caught the attention of several guests:

You take the midnight subway train, you’re calling all the shots.
You’re struck by lightning, you’re in love
You take the evening one on one, you’re only living to have fun
You want to use me, take me home tonight. I’ll make you wish that you were mine

You’re struck by lightning, you’re in love.
It’s not worth fighting, you’re in love.
So turn around, remember me. I’m the one who’s out to aim & please
You’re in love, you’re in love

Later, while preparing the Queen Anne Bar, a female guest approached Dokkenator. It was her complement that brought a smile to his face:

“Your singing made my day. I don’t know you, but your singing really brightened my mood. I was getting angry with my assistant, but I heard your voice & I was happy immediately. Whatever gift you’ve got, keep it. God Bless.”

With the energy Dokkenator possesses, there’s no reason anyone should be miserable inside the workplace.

Rock hard or don’t rock at all,

Welcome to the world of Dokkenator

“You are truly the highlight of my shifts.”

“We need your energy behind the line.”

“Where do you get your energy from?”

“Where have you been all night? You’re truly amazing.”

Those are just a sprinkling of the complements Dokkenator has received before, during & after his shifts. From the moment the employee entrance opens, the power of high energy 80’s Rock makes its presence known. Tracks from Def Leppard, Warrant, Winger, RATT & of course Dokken are being belted at full volume. Heads suddenly turn & workers look over, then say to themselves “Our favorite worker has entered the building.” It’s a power that Dokkenator has harnessed & built from the moment he entered Paradise Banquet Hall.

There’s buzz killers such as his scheduler or manager who fire the following:

“Why must you have those stupid things in your ears?”

“This isn’t a concert hall, take those things off.”

“When you enter this building, those headphones are to disappear.”

Nevertheless, Dokkenator is never phased by their complaints. If more workers possessed his energy & enthusiasm, there wouldn’t be complaints of ineffectiveness inside the workplace.

What took you so long Dokkenator45?

“Christmas vacation is almost over. I haven’t even started to write my book report on Gulliver’s Travels. Heck…I haven’t started to read it yet.”

“Why don’t I get started”?
“Why do I keep putting things off?”
“What’s wrong with me?”

Those were questions Charlie Brown asked himself one afternoon. He was wondering why he couldn’t get started reading “Gulliver’s Travels”. Not to mention he also was expected to write a report after finishing the book. All while on Christmas vacation.

Dokkenator isn’t facing that dilemma, but he’s also asked those questions. Not to mention he also wondered who would read his work. Why would he start writing a blog. However…the biggest question also arose:  Would he continue to write, even though he was struggling to build an audience?”

Thanks to the advice of two Facebook friends, he’s decided to resume blogging his adventures. Quoting Susan Roberts…AKA Motley Sue…..”You’re in the wrong profession. You should actually be a writer. Your writing style is very smooth.”
Another good friend, Brandee Denton added her views. “He quite an intelligent fella, with some good humor sprinkled in the mix. Furthermore, he’s got the right personality in his current profession, but writing would take him so much further.”

If you’re wondering about Dokkenator, he’s a dynamic up & coming bartender. His energy takes parties to another level, whether as a regular bartender or a breaker. This is how he takes his love of 80’s Rock to kick-start every shift. Sit back, relax & prepare to enter his world. The Dokkenator never met a party he couldn’t rock.
